I recently have become involved in a project to shoot some display items for a factory that specialises in printed ‘point of sale’ display items for the retail market.
The idea being to move the products to a setting that is at odds with the items themselves. Our main idea being to take photographs of some of their Christmas items and place them on a sandy beach in the middle of summer!
These images are of some example products taken at a countryside landmark site close to their factory. Many thanks to the farmer that kindly lent us his field. The weather wasn’t too kind as we had heavy downpours with plenty of wind on an exposed site. Now, not too much of a problem until you realise that these items are made of cardboard and although very rigid and strong are relatively light. The shot of the big Samsung plaque acted like a sail and took some effort to hold into place. What you can’t see is the able assistant clinging on for dear life behind the display unit!
Anyway, it was a fun shoot and we have some ideas for more as we progress…
