Well, an early start today to see the ‘Ride of Respect’ spectacle as 10,000 bikers showed their support for the Afghan Soldiers. The rally starts at Hullavington and then proceeds through the countryside to end in Wootton Bassett, the scene of so many recent sad parades. It is a mightily uplifting experience to see so many enthusiasts in one place and our hands were tired from all that waving!! Congratulations to the organisers and participants and I have included a couple of captures from last year as my little tribute to you all!
The early afternoon saw us hot-footing it to our local WH Smiths to grab a copy of a magazine that some of my photographs are featured in. It’s always good to see your work published, makes you realise the considerable effort that goes into almost all imagery within the quality magazines on sale these days.
This evening has been one long tireless blur of photographing two Champagne flutes chinking together and ‘sloshing’ champers from the tops of the glasses. Easy eh? Mmmm….well let me enlighten you. It is flippin’ time consuming, endlessly tiresome and fiddly and just when you think you have everything just so, you realise your drink has gone flat and everything needs to be re-poured and re-positioned again. It took three of us four hours to get the shots we felt happy with, given the time constraints we have had put on us. Tomorrow morning has now given over to processing said images and forwarding to the client. I hope they are grateful!! Time for me to rest my weary head after having to polish off what didn’t end up all over the studio floor!
PS Advice for you, Champagne is sticky!!!!
